Hi Church Family!

Brenda and I thank you so very much for your support, expressions of love, and most importantly, your prayers on her behalf. We rejoice that she is in remission and know that Jesus will continue to provide for her through each step of recovery. God has declared that He "will never fail you, I will never abandon you. So we can say with confidence, 'The LORD is my helper, so I will have no fear. What can mere people do to me?'" (Hebrews 13:5-6)

Have you noticed that over the past couple months we have had several of our people either experience illness or surgery? This morning in my devotion reading from Smith Wigglesworth Devotional March 15, God reminded me once again that He has provided His children a Healer who's name is Jesus. "Are any of you sick? You should call for the elders of the church to come an pray over you, anointing you with oil in the name of the Lord. Such a prayer offered in faith will heal the sick, and the Lord will make you well. And if you have committed any sins, you will be forgiven." (James 5:14-15) Wigglesworth wrote, "We have in this precious word a real basis for the truth of healing. In these verses God gives very definite instructions to the sick. If you are sick, your part is to call for the elders of the church; it is their part to anoint and pray for you in faith. Then the whole situation rests with the Lord. When you have been anointed and prayed for, you can rest assured that the Lord will raise you up. It is the word of God. God provides the double cure, for even if sin has been the cause of the sickness, His word declares in James 5:15, "If you have committed any sins, you will be forgive."

If you are sick, I strongly encourage you to follow the word of God and call the elders to come, anoint you, and to pray over you the prayer of faith. When we do as the word of God instructs, we can rest knowing the God will provide healing. "Does the Lord meet those who look to Him for healing and who obey the instructions set forth in the book of James? Most assuredly. He will undertake for the most extreme case." So, be sure to never "turn away from any part of God's truth," for if and when you do, "the enemy will certainly get an advantage over you."

This Sunday we will finish up Colossians 2 in our All In series "All of Jesus in all of us - Warning!" The foundation of a believer’s life is based on a personal faith in Jesus alone. Even if we think that “signs and wonders” would be helpful, we must remember that salvation is by grace alone through faith alone. What do we know about faith, faith doesn’t ask the question “why?” “Faith shows the reality of what we hope for; it is the evidence of things we cannot see.” (Hebrews 11:1) Faith doesn’t ask for signs and wonders because believers “walk by faith, not by sight.” (2 Corinthians 5:7) and we know that “Faith comes from hearing, that is, hearing the Good News about Christ.” (Romans 10:17)

I look forward to worshiping with you Sunday! May we each come prepared to be worshipers who worship in spirit and truth!

God loves you and so do I!
